The joint project "Local Industry Creation Project Utilizing Idle Greenhouses - Passing on Oshima's Resources to the Next Generation" in which Nagai's seminar is participating has been selected as a "Tokyo Metropolitan Government and University Joint Project" in 2025. The University of Electro-Communications is the representative of this joint project, and Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, and Nagai's seminar are participating. By utilizing idle greenhouses and combining advanced cultivation and digital technologies, we aim to steadily produce fresh pepper, a high-value-added ingredient. In addition, we will promote the creation and branding of local industries by verifying a farming model at a shared farm and developing menus using agricultural products from Oshima.
Nagai's seminar has been working on developing menus using agricultural products from Oshima, and this time they served a tempura bowl using Oshima's angelica leaves in combination with TFT, which is the core of the seminar's activities, and sold out 168 meals. On the day, Professor Ishigaki Akira of the University of Electro-Communications, as well as Kusakabe Masaaki, CEO of Pluswatch Inc., which is supporting the demonstration experiment on Oshima, visited Soratio Kitchen and talked with the seminar students. Seminar leader Kuroki Yuta (3rd year, Faculty of Economics) commented, "We had a hard time deciding which ingredients from Oshima to use, so we are relieved that we were able to sell out. In the future, we would like to actually visit Oshima and inspect the area, and work to convey the charm of Oshima through our menu."
The Nagai seminar will continue to work on promoting joint projects.
